Exporting one Blog into Master blog

I had tried to export one blog into another and got succeeded.   Very useful feature of blogspot.
The session was very useful and informative one.

One query, when I publish my posts, it asks me do you want to share with Google plus.  I always cancel it.
What is the utility, If I share the same.

Thanks & regards.

I am already using blogs and it is through my personal gmail account. How do I use those blogs now already created for posting reading material if organization decides to create new blog for reading material so that my work does not go waste.

Regards,

Rajeshree

Solution: If it is decided to use some other account for blog on the same topic, you can export your blog, get the xml file and use that to import the content in new blog. Your earlier work will not go waste.

How to upload files on the blog?

I have worked with blogs under your guidance. Would now like to know how to post pdf files / scanned images / picture/ ppts under blogs.

Regards,

Rajeshree

Dr. Mrs. Rajeshree Chaugule

Blogging service provided by Google allows only image and video files on post. Other service providers like wordpress (yahoo) allow ppt, pdf, etc. For blog, we need to make image or video of files to upload.

Watch this video:

How can we maintain repository of our programme material if they are made available through blogs

If we have more than 200 programmes on over 40 different topics, we are likely to have 40 different blogs. How will an internal user know about the blog where he can get the content on his topic of interest? Also, how to maintain a single repository of all the contents for various purposes (reference, legal, business or whatever).

Powerful Tools for Teaching and Learning: Web 2.0 Tools

A free online course on "Powerful Tools for Teaching and Learning: Web 2.0 Tools" by University of Houston System is starting on 3rd May 2015. This is a 5 weeks course and requires 3-4 hours per week. Let us make use of it. For more information and joining the course please visit https://www.coursera.org/course/newtechtools.

We can also download “Seven Principles for Good Practice in Education” from http://faculty.coe.uh.edu/smcneil/CUIN7356/implementing_seven_principles.pdf and work on ways to implement them.

Concern- II: Providing link may be against Copyright

Publishers of websites take care of this part on their own. If they are providing some content on some page within their website and allowing views or downloads as per their policies without registration or with registration, they expect visitors to follow that.

If you register on a site, download the content and publish it on your blog; it doesn't seem a right act. But if you are providing a link to the page using which others visit on their page and they get the content only as per the provisions made by them then this seems to be a correct practice.

I am not a legal matter expert but I don't feel any copyright violation in providing the link on blog. In fact, if others do for my website pages, I will be happy. Moreover, providing links of other's websites and/or getting own website linked on other's websites are very useful in SEO (search Engine Optimization).

Please feel free to debate on these points in comments below.

Concern -- I, Public Vs. Private

This blog is public. Anybody can see the content. But it solves the purpose if we publish such contents which are anyway public. Moreover remaining public on web can do free publicity.

But, if it is to be private, I can make this blog private within seconds. In that case I or someone has to keep adding readers and authors by entering their e-mail addresses at appropriate place in Settings.

This service is being provided by Google. They have stronger security measures than some vendors where most of the websites are hosted. I hope, that risks involved in blogging is not so high that we discard it. It has several advantages that other conventional methods don't offer.
